Shew today was a scorcher! I think it was our third "heat warning" of the tour so far. The index was up to 106 today. Even if you were sitting down outside, you could feel the sweat just start dripping down your back. Nasty! However, I will say that this year's layout I think was improved from last year! There wasn't as much funneling.
American Rag, one of our new companies out on the road, has some acoustic sets that you've seen in the pit blogs. They do a signing with The Cab everyday as well and are hosting some DYI Workshops. There you can learn how to deconstruct your shirts. Check out the pit video from today to learn how to shred the back of your tee for an awesome look!
Altec Lansing, another new company this year, also hosts some signings, acoustic sets and fan vs. band Rock Band sessions. Today Mayday Parade played with fans all day! Ace Enders also showed up for an acoustic set. Being a big Early November fan, I was stoked. Little did I know that he would be playing some old TEN songs! You never know what's going to happen at sets like that- so be sure to get to them.
With the new group of bands to join on in the past few days, I checked out iwrestledabearonce. I do not know how she can change her voice like that! It's awesome. She's a crazy strong vocalist and it's an awesome show. See it. I also caught Ice Nine Kills who were out with us some last year. I think they are even better and more solid than last summer.
I will say that I've been feeling a little under the weather the past few days so that's why you haven't seen me running around as much at the shows. Last year I made the mistake of staying out too much and got myself super sick, so the next few shows, I may not be out as much just wandering freely. Tomorrow though is my hometown show so I'm really excited to get there- no matter how I'm feeling! You'll meet my dad and sister then, too.
