So the video didn't work out today and I send major apologies. Some venues have very strict filming notices for media outlets and today was one of them. It's usually just live footage, but when Kevin is on the radio about the filming notices, it's a little more crazy than that. Apologies once again Milwaukee, but some things are out of our control.
Over 150 Vans Warped Tour crew members worked together this past week to clean up debris from Nashville, Tennessee's historic floods. In just three hours they filled six dumpsters which amounts to 180 total cubic yards of trash and debris. That's over 108 car loads! Thanks for helping Music City and keeping our fish, wildlife, and water safe. Check out the video below from guest blogger Steve!
We rolled back around to Ohio for our second date here, which is now home of the best circle pit I've seen. For starters, Whitechapel went out on stage to play with Andrew WK who closed the show. The main stage was in one of the two amphitheaters so we had loads of room, right? Well the circle pit for "Party Hard" expanded to the top tiers of the amp. It was incredible. Just...watch the video. Amazing.
It was so strange today. It turned out exactly how it did last year! Very humid throughout the day then a crazy storm hit around 6:30, 7pm and a few sets had to get moved inside the amphitheater. Bring Me The Horizon and Four Year Strong closed out the show and the show went to 9:45. The changes that happened in Atlanta were for the day, only! Everything will be back to normal for Cincy.
We made it through Florida without a tropical storm problem! Well...other than St. Pete, but the show still went on in all the rain. Orlando was typical Orlando- insanely hot and insanely humid, but amazing crowds and fans all over. Hey, at least they mowed the grounds before the show this time, right!? Anyone who went last year knows what I'm talking about.
I'm shocked we escaped Bonnie's rain today! Weather wise, today was perfect. It was warm, yes, but we had a very nice breeze all day. Plus, it was the first day I've actually felt 100% after a little cold I had, so I'm sure I was just happy to be taking everything all in again. I'm actually surprised the rain from yesterday didn't make it worse!
Apologies from the bands, crew and staff today for the late doors! We had an insane drive last night (about 10 hours) so we were cutting it close. Alas, we got everything ready to roll and you only had to wait about 10 or 15 minutes for us. Again, we're sorry for the wait time, but we do the best we can out here!
Hometown show! Ok, Charlotte is technically not my hometown but it's the closest Warped stop to where I grew up. I've made that 3 hour haul to and 3 hour haul back every year since 2003. My first year was here with The Ataris, The Starting Line, Tsunami Bomb, Yellowcard- good times. It always makes me happy coming back to this show...I've missed my sweet tea, that's for sure.
The Warped Eco Initiative began in 2005 and has grown to include a volunteer driven recycling program (over 500 .lbs everyday!), solar powered stage, bio diesel fueling, compostable/reusable dishware in catering, eco-driven contests,a band volunteer participation program, and more! This year we want to showcase people on the tour who are going above and beyond, using music as a platform to creative positive change.
Shew today was a scorcher! I think it was our third "heat warning" of the tour so far. The index was up to 106 today. Even if you were sitting down outside, you could feel the sweat just start dripping down your back. Nasty! However, I will say that this year's layout I think was improved from last year! There wasn't as much funneling.

There's a lot to me. There's a lot that I'm still working on. Some things that I do know are that: I'm a professional photographer. I book shows. It's where my heart is. This is my [hopeful] future career... more
